Oolong has been diagnosed with eosinophilic granuloma complex. This autoimmune condition is chronic, but can easily be managed with prescription medications as symptoms flare. The approved applicant for Oolong will be provided with additional information and guidance on this condition. EGC is NOT CONTAGIOUS AND THEREFORE CANNOT BE TRANSFERRED TO HUMANS OR OTHER ANIMALS, so any current pets in your home are safe.
*** Please note that we are NOT accepting applications for the cats listed as Coming Soon. These cats have either yet to arrive or have only just recently arrived. Once their foster families get to know them a little better, a detailed bio outlining their personality and describing their ideal home will be posted and we will then begin accepting applications for them. ***
Oolong's Bio
Hi everyone, my name is Oolong! I am one of the kittens from the “Tea Babies” litter of cuties. Now, I have a favour to ask of you...if looking at my picture was enough to have you wanting to learn more about me and see if I would be a good fit for your home, please give me a chance and read my entire bio.
I am a calm, independent, easy-going guy that loves to play. It doesn’t take much to get me to purr…all you have to do is give me a good head scratch. One of my favourite hobbies is watching tv- everything from juicy drama-filled reality shows like The Real Housewives of Orange County to action-packed movies interests me! Oh...not to brag, but my foster parents downloaded this cat game app on their phone called "Mouse for Cats"...and guess who has the high score with the most amount of "hits"?! You guessed it...this handsome guy! I do also enjoy taking naps, my favourite place to sleep is on folded blankets or on an unmade bed! I like to follow my foster parents around the house so I would keep you company and can even help with household chores like folding laundry.
Because of my easy-going purr-sonality I would do well in a home with another cat and/or even a gentle, cat-loving dog! And yes, little humans (aka “kids”) are good as well…just more people to give me love, attention and head scratches.
Now, here's the thing...I have a condition called Eosinophillic Granuloma Complex. I know- it’s a longggg one- let’s call it EGC for short! EGC is a group of skin conditions that is typically caused by an allergic hypersensitivity...that means my body perceives something as a threat that normally isn't. ECG cannot be spread to other animals or to humans, and management focuses on minimizing triggers and administration of medication during flare-ups.
Unfortunately having this condition has made it harder for me to find a forever home, but I am confident that the right family will come along...after all, it is on my Christmas list to Santa this year.
If you are interested in learning more about me please fill out an application! My foster parents and the Pets Alive team would love to share how they have helped minimize my EGC triggers and prevent flare-ups.
Oolong's Adoption Fee | $149.00
The feline adoption fees help cover the costs associated with rescuing, such as vetting, food, kitty litter and other expenses.
Prior to adoption, cats are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed and given flea treatment. In short, they receive any necessary treatment.
