About Roni
Roni is a sweet and gentle dog who just wants to be loved and surrounded by his trusted people. His rescue story began in Mexico when his rescuer went to physiotherapy and caught him sneaking into the facility. After her session was over, she found him lying in a cool area in the garden and noticed that his front paw was injured. Unfortunately, the physio facility wasn’t able to keep him, so she took him home with her to heal and to begin the search for his forever family. Roni adapted right away to living in a home environment with other dogs and has continued to be an excellent house guest since coming to Canada!
Roni is shy and timid at first, probably because of all the big changes that he’s experienced recently, but he warms up fairly quickly and becomes a little more adventurous every day. He loves to give little kisses and nose boops and does a happy dance when it’s time to go outside (as long as it’s not raining)! He walks well on leash and loves to sniff and explore.
Roni seems very content to spend time relaxing with his foster family, and he doesn’t currently have any real interest in playing with balls or chew toys, but that might change over time. We do know that he is smart and treat motivated, and his foster family is working on teaching him some tricks—he has already learned how to sit on command! Roni would do very well in a home with another calm and gentle dog to help build his confidence, but he would also be a happy only dog provided he gets lots of love and affection!
If you’re looking for a sweet dog who will always greet you with a happy smile, gentle kisses, and wiggly bum, please consider opening your heart and home to Roni
