About Kamila
Stunning Kamila has made so much progress in her foster home over the past 4 months that she’s practically a different dog!
As a rescue from Mexico, much about life in Canada was strange and new (and a little bit scary) when she arrived late last year, but Kamila’s foster could see how desperately she wanted to trust and be loved. Now that she has had time to settle in, Kamila has become such a loving girl and is finally happy doing dog things, like snuggling up in a warm blanket on the couch beside her foster!
The biggest change in Kamila came about when her foster welcomed a young and playful dog into the home. It turns out that Kamila absolutely loves having dog friends, whether it's playing tag with them or tug-of-war. She is her most comfortable and confident self when in the company of other dogs, and she makes an excellent playmate.
Kamila has also become very fond of walks, which is a big change because she was terrified of a leash when she first came into our care. Now she gets so excited to go out and lets out a tiny whine while waiting to be leashed up. She is a good walker and enjoys sniffing, although she will sometimes want to chase a bird or squirrel! Kamila will also now approach unfamiliar people for affection, although she can still be wary of strangers coming into the home and may bark a bit at first.
Kamila is fully house trained and crate trained, and although she did chase the cat in her foster home at first, she is now much more respectful and only occasionally succumbs to temptation. A home without children is preferred.
It’s clear that Kamila is finally living the good life and she knows it! She enjoys receiving lots of pets, kisses, and now even hugs from her foster. In her loving foster home, Kamila is truly blossoming, and whoever adopts Kamila will make a sweet and silly friend for life!
At the age of 6, she is more than ready to find a forever home with people who will give her the time she needs to adjust to the change and then give her all the love, attention, play, and fun activities that she missed out on in her younger years.
