About Penny
Penny is a very sweet girl who loves affection. Once she got familiar with us and we gained her trust, she became a very loyal, curious happy dog. She loves to be around people once she is familiar with them, but is still standoffish with new people.
Penny needs a fenced yard, as she likes to explore. She also likes to eat plants and sticks, so should be watched carefully in new environment.
Because she comes from a hoarding situation, Penny had never been outside or on a leash before coming to us, but she is doing well on a leash now and enjoys walks! She’s only seen snow once, and was not impressed, and is definitely not used to the cold.
Penny's favourite pastimes are burrowing under blankets, sitting in the sun, and getting endless love and affection. She does well in a calm environment. Let her come to you and she will be such a loyal companion.

Why We Love Fostering
-
I love animals and believe they all deserve a chance at love and having a happy home. Fostering has been my biggest reward in life. Often seeing these dogs go from shy, frightened, unsure, abused, and/or neglected, to the most loving, happy, and grateful family members. People always ask how I do it, but how can I not? Is it hard to let go? Of course, it is. But it’s not about me – it’s about getting these dogs into furever homes. When I see updates from adopters, nothing makes me happier. I trust Pets Alive to get these homes for my fosters, and when they leave me, sure I miss them, but it means I can take another one into my home. In all, I have fostered roughly 53 dogs. That’s 53 souls that otherwise, may not be alive today.
