As a result of the challenges Pets Alive has faced during the COVID-19 pandemic, we have made the decision to update our adoption pricing structure as of October 1st, 2020.
Pets Alive During COVID-19
Covid-19 has been very difficult for non-profit organizations, ourselves included. We deeply appreciate donations that have continued to arrive from individuals and community groups, but the inability to hold major fundraisers has created challenges – and forced us to be creative. Kudos to Ellen and Ashley for organizing the recent Krispy Kreme event.
Without access to our usual fundraising events, however, it has become more challenging to cover the costs for the ongoing care of the animals we foster.
Our New Adoption Fees
As part of our fiscal responsibility, we have reviewed our price structure and compared with those of other rescue groups and Humane Societies in the region. We discovered that our prices were generally on the lower end of the range.
As a result of these considerations, we have decided to adjust our pricing structure to align ourselves more closely to other agencies. We hope you understand why we feel this is necessary at this time.
Starting on October 1, our new pricing structure will be as follows:
Cats
Kittens (under 6 months) | $149
Cats (6 months +) | $99
Senior Cat (10+) | $49
Dogs
Puppies (under 8 months) | $600
Dogs (8 months to 9 yrs ) | $500
Seniors (10+) | $375
Bonded Pair | $700
Note: Adoptions and applications in process before October 1st will honour the old fee structure.
Interested in helping support Pets Alive?
There are many ways you can support Pets Alive in our efforts to find safe, happy homes for cats and dogs across North America.
We are always looking for new foster parents to care for our cats and dogs until they find their forever homes. If fostering is not an option, you might consider showing your support in a volunteer capacity.
Finally, we are in ongoing need of funds to provide the care our animals deserve, and there are lots of great ways to make a donation. Your donations help us continue to build and run the programs necessary to save lives.
