About Rocky
This sweet boy was surrendered by his owner and his teeth are worn down so there’s a good chance he lived on a chain. Rocky is a smart, friendly boy; house trained but does not like to be crated. He can be dog selective and ignores cats, however, we suggest he be the only pet in the home as he sometimes gets jealous of other pets.
Rocky is friendly and fine meeting new people but does not like having his head or neck grabbed, so caution must be taken when meeting strangers, especially young children. For this reason, we suggest no kids or teens in the home either.
Rocky will need some leash training as he likes to pull during walks. A dominant dog, Rocky will need a strong handler who can take control of him and situations. His energy level is about a 6 out of 10, and he likes to run, but he can climb a chain-link fence so a wooden 6 ft fully-fenced yard would be ideal.
Rocky does not like to be handled and will let you know, so he will need to be muzzled at the vet or during any grooming. He also has some resource guarding, so caution must be taken until he is trained to give.
Adoption Fee | $400
Adoption fees help cover the costs associated with rescues, such as vetting, boarding and transportation.
They also cover spay/neuter, heartworm testing and treatment (if necessary), rabies and DHLPP vaccines, microchip, and one month of pet insurance prior to adoption.

Rocky requires a confident handler who understands him and will work with him to overcome his issues. He is doing well in his foster home and we believe he will continue to do well with the right adopter. Free training has been offered to any adopter within Niagara Region, Ontario.
