About Shelby

This little bundle of cuteness is looking for his perfect forever family to share his kisses with! After recently arriving from Mexico, Shelby has settled in nicely at his foster home. Although a bit nervous at first, he quickly grew to love his 80lb foster brother and is enjoying playing and learning from him! With proper introductions, he will do well with other dogs and would enjoy having another pup to play with. He plays well with other dogs, although sometimes he wants to keep playing a bit too long – but he responds well to redirection from his playmate.

Shelby is also doing well with the two cats at his foster home! He loves his walks and his play time, especially with all the fun toys that are around. Sometimes he makes a mistake with what is a toy and what isn’t, but he responds very well to gentle correction. He loves to play fetch, and he also loves chew toys. At only 9 months old, he is also doing really well with potty training, but still needs a few reminders from time to time. He is not a big fan of his crate and will whine a bit at first, but quickly settles in for a nap or some chew time.

Shelby is very gentle and loves to snuggle up on the couch for a good cuddle! Even though he is young, he loves his naps and does well resting quietly while his human is working or busy with other tasks. He is gentle with taking treats, sits and waits patiently for his food, and is learning how to be patient while he gets his feet wiped off.

Shelby’s perfect home will be a home that wants to engage with him, play with him, and teach him new tricks! He is young and eager to learn, but also eager for love, affection, and a good cuddle buddy!
