Adopt

When you adopt an animal from a shelter or rescue organization, you are saving not one, but two lives. The life of the animal you’ve adopted, as well as the life of the animal there is now space for. You become part of the solution to the growing problem of homeless pets and unnecessary euthanasia. All of our adoptable cats, kittens and dogs can be seen BELOW on Pet Finder. You can also visit us on Adopt-a-pet or our Facebook page!

How to adopt a cat

The first step is to complete our cat adoption application

Which one do I choose?
We are dedicated to finding our cats/kittens forever homes where they can be loved, well cared for, and a part of your family for the rest of their life. Please take the time to carefully read and complete all of the questions in the application as best as possible as they are designed to assist with placing our animals in an environment that meets their personality and needs. Our wish is for the animals and the adoptive family alike to be happy, thus resulting in a permanent, happy, forever home. Thank you for your understanding.

Please fill out the form as completely and accurately as possible. Incomplete applications cannot be accepted.  Pets Alive Animal Rescue Niagara Inc. reserves the right to reject any application and reserves the sole right in determining the best placement for our animals.

What happens after I apply?
After we look over your application, we will check out the references on your application, and then contact you to let you know whether your application was successful. At that point, we’ll set up a meet and greet with the cat/kitten you are hoping to adopt. If all goes well, you’ll be able to take your new friend home!

The fun part: How do I get my new cat?
If your application has been approved, you will be able to take your new pet home once you meet them and the adoption contract is finalized and adoption fee paid. In the case where you are adopting a baby kitten, you might need to wait for a period of time before you can take your new pet home, as kittens need to weigh a certain amount before they can get their spay/neuter surgery. Absolutely no cats/kittens go to their new homes without being spay/neutered.

What’s Included – DOGS

Our dog adoption fee is $400 for dogs under 8 years and $250 for dogs 8 years and over. This includes:

-Spay/Neuter

-Microchip

-DHPP, Rabies, and Bordatella vaccines

-Deworming and anti flea/tick treatment

-Heartworm testing and treatment if positive result

-6 week of Pet Insurance with Ontario SPCA Pet Health Insurance

-$100 off Dave McMahon’s 10 week Novice Group Obedience Training course
